Engineering Insight

Polycarbonate is an amorphous polymer with a high glass transition temperature (~145°C), delivering reliable performance under thermal and mechanical stress. Its non-crystalline structure allows for gradual softening, supporting a wide range of manufacturing methods such as injection moulding, extrusion, and thermoforming.

It maintains low creep, excellent dimensional precision, and stable electrical insulation, making it ideal for applications in electronics, optics, and structural components. PC’s formulation can also be optimized through alloying with materials like ABS or PET, offering enhanced processing flexibility and tailored mechanical properties for various end-use environments.
